Blakk Byrd I don't need to, Anyone who needs to resort to "tits' to get attention clearly doesn't have any substance to their work. Sorry, but it doesn't appear to live up to the standard I would expect from Until Never.

Din Heagney I don't see how part of an artist's (or anyone's) body is sexist. That statement is clearly from someone who knows nothing about the history of art or its relationship to fashion and the body. BB you even refuse to read the artist statement... That's a fail.

Blakk Byrd Din, I'm the author of bellebyrd and blakkbyrd blogs, you might like to check them out, in particular everything under the 'feminist' tag. This article will help you understand what is sexist, when you've read and watched it get back to me
http://printaustralia.blogspot.com/2006/12/advertisings-image-of-women.html
I made my comment to open a debate on the appropriateness of exploiting women's bodies for financial gain.

Din Heagney Well, in this instance the artist in question, RK, has used her own body to model her own jewellery, she has also chosen to feature these images online as an extension of her current exhibition which explores (critically and with humour) the various ways women's bodies are associated with, and used in, fashion, advertising and art. This exhibition was featured as part of the Cultural Program for the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and is as much about celebrating the female form as critiquing its use in popular culture. While Kilbourne's documentary treads old ground, there is perhaps a better article on this topic here which includes the comment: "Several feminist artists in the 1970s were criticized for using their nude bodies in their work, especially if they were beautiful. In effect, women were not allowed to be beautiful and at the same time be successful with their work." I think this is exactly what you are doing, placing further limitations of female artists and the female body. http://www.artwomen.org/DoubleTrouble/dt-p4.htm

@BB: please clarify exactly what part of your posts encourages any form of debate?

Perhaps it was this:
"Anyone who needs to resort to "tits' to get attention clearly doesn't have any substance to their work"
Or this:
"This article will help you understand what is sexist, when you've read and watched it get back to me"

Can I suggest you either engage with the work in an intelligent way, or don't bother? Maybe next time you could discover a little about the artist's intentions before indulging in so much gratuitous facebook chest-puffing?

Your nest may be a sheltered place, but please don't air your ignorance here and expect to go unchallenged. Not tonight, Josephine.

Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite justification appeared to be on the web the simplest thing to be
aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they plainly do not know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined
out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal.
Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
